Hello All and Welcome to the Official VAC Discussion Group,

Pat and I are going to give this a go (well more Pat but I will be here
when and where I can) and try and focus on the subjects most dear tothe
VAC....vintage Airstreams! We are interested in getting this List going
with discussions about VAC activities and restoration tips and advice. We
are hopeful that this List will move on to replace the present Q&AForum
on the VAC web site because the List approach offers increased insightby
more members.

So a burning question I am wrestling with right now is what type of
plumbing that folks are using in their trailers. My 1953 21 ft Airstream
Flying Cloud must have been changed around in the early 1980's withnew
plumbing. This plumbing was generally 3/8" flared copper tubing (sameas
LP lines) with a generous use of galvanized pipe fittings and epoxy
compounds. However I have always found the water pressure and flowto be
quite low although I have a good pump and accumulator. Since I am inthe
process of changing the hot water system to the PrecisionTemp 500 tankless
hot water heater (replacing a 3 gallon electric only tank) as wellas
adding an exterior shower, I thought that this would be a good timeto
switch all the plumbing over to 1/2" flared copper tubing with copperor
brass fittings. Do any of our subscribers have experience with thistype
of approach?

Looking forward to some answers and insights.
