Does this mean that you don't have a water pressure/flow problem with
the 1/2" tubing? Have you had any vibration problems causing cracking
of the flared ends, ec. from traveling?

Do you know if a 1/2" MPT (male) threaded fitting is the same as a 1/2"
pipe threaded fitting or with the mating of a 1/2" MPT into a 1/2"pipe
inlet leak?
