My understanding is that when new the vacuum brakes worked great-------BUT
with age they tend to give problems and that the recommended repairis to
replace them with electric brakes. Several years ago the Airstreamfactory
even offered a special to encourage folks to get the vac brakes replaced.I've
been told that they tend to drag and cause related problems. Our local
Airstream dealer wants $1,300-- $1,500 to do the change over. Rememberthat
the tow rig also needs to be set up for the electric brakes.
