Thank you Mike & Lisa. I need to pull out my upper interior panelsthis
weekend and survey the condition of the front rib and the joint betweenthe
curved leading exterior panels and the roof panels. After I push outthe
dents ( if possible ) I'll see what external riveting needs to be done,I
thought I needed a rivet shaver, but since I won't be replacing toomany
rivets, I think I'll be able to carefully grind them down by hand.I'm told
that in addition to the Olympic rivet, there are "locking collar" rivets
made by a company called Cherry-something. Maybe this is the kind you're
talking about. A guy I was talking to, who is an airframe repairman,
recommended these. He said they hold better, and the shaft breaks offalmost
flush, so there's less finish work. They are more expensive than the
Olympics, however, costing about $1.25 per. Thanks again, I'll letyou know
how I make out!

I have a fastener in my repair box that may do the trick on outer
skin repair.  It looks exactly the same as the image I have includedexcept
that the shaft is spiral threaded.  Similiar to a spiral shanknail but with
sharper edges and more bite.  Almost like a helix gear.

The dimensions of the one I have are: (tape measure approximate)
A = 3/8"
H=1/8"
L=1/2"
E=1/8" at tip.  Spiral thread is 3/8"

I haven't found the correct name for this other than a 'Sprial
Threaded Round Head Solid Rivet'.  This type of fastener can probablybe
found at industrial suppliers like Kar Products, Tifco Industries,and
Fastenal.  I can't recall which one I got this from but it wasone of the
above.

As soon as I find the true name and supplier I will pass it on.

I've included a link here for Fastenal.  They have a downloadable
catalog in PDF format.  It's a biggie.  834 pages for 27Mb for the entire
catalog or you can download specific sections.  I am going todownload it
when I have a spare 45 minutes for  a reference on fasteners.
