A buddy gave me one of those friction-type anti-sway devices that
attaches between a little ball on the tounge and another on the hitch.
It has a screw with a lever attached to twist around to add/adjust
friction, plus another bolt with a hex head that I assume is sort of a
coarse adjustment.

Question is, how much friction do I put on this thing? How do I know
when it's "Right"?
