Yup! That's the type. It enables my girlfriend and I to take
comfortable weekenders but when the inevitable time comes that I have to
move out of my current park at least I'll have a puller.
I should mention that my Safari weight has been trimmed down to 3100
pounds so it should not strain the Class B Puller.

Friends of ours had a 1971 Safari and the above website configuration is

Many of you seem to have awnings, so I'd appreciate
some advice. My Overlander has an A&E awning. My
parents never removed this for winter storage or
anything like that. It looks to me like it could use
some repair and I really feel that it would be better
routinely to store it off the trailer in the
"non-travel" months.
It looks like you could remove the caps at the end of
the arms and just lift out the roller. It seems as
though it should be "relaxed" in the rolled up state.
The tricky part looks to be sliding the beaded edge of
the canvas out of the tunnel which is attached to the
trailer -- definitely a two-person job. Have I
assessed this correctly?
Any suggestions about awning care would be much
appreciated.

My Safari is 23 feet long and has the separate bedroom compartment. I need
the floorplan or layout which shows where the chest of drawers and wardrobe
sit across from the gaucho/bed. I have the chest and wardrobe door but don't
how to reinsert them.

You can do it, but you will have to switch to Harlingen or some other park
and go now... The usual snow bird months are excluded and the rate is for
first time customers... Always a catch... and the repeat customer gets no
break... I guess it's back to Fun N Sun... their rates are as good as any
for the services offered...
Try the pancake breakfast on Sunday... I see folks from a lot of different
parks and the Craft Show is every other Sunday or so...

It's not quite that simple, as there is still some tension on the awning
when it's in the 'stored' position, and is usually a two-person job to
remove and re-install.
Rather that remove it each winter, I'd think it would be easier to
fabricate some sort of cover for it, or even just tape plastic over it.
The awning should have, for the last foot or so closest to the trailer,
a panel that is waterproof and is intended to protect the rest of the
fabric when it is rolled up. It may be time to replace the awning fabric
anyway, if that part of it isn't doing it's job.

Adding a rubber roof on an Airstream trailer, is not something I would
recommend for a variety of reasons.
1. Why?
2. What would a person hope to gain?
3. How would you hold down the edges?
4. It would serve no useful purpose.
5. If someone wants the roof to be cooler, paint it with auto paints,
properly.
6. Adding any type of roof coating, will shortly lead to stains down the
sides of the trailer.
7. There is always someone who will always ignore good advice and do it
anyway.
8. I would think that the resale value with a rubber roof, would go right
into the black water tank, quickly.
