Thank you once again, Colin.
Will try and remove the entire cast elbow from the tiny black tank,
install a new elbow with proper grey and black slide valves. I might
have to cut and re-use the cast elbow if it won't unscrew from the
bottom of the tank.
It might be rusted solid.
