Bill,

The Airstream should have an antenna tip clip or hook at or near the upper 
corner of the street side window nearest the front of the trailer and this 
should steady the antenna in an arc away from the body while you are 
driving.  Another possible solution is a piece of soft tubing, windshield 
washer hose or clear PVC tubing as most hardware stores sell that can be 
slid over the antenna where it hits the body and taped in place. Plastic or 
rubber tubing will not affect the operation of the antenna as a receiver of 
radio waves.
