Interestingly, the one application I've gotten to specify them on was the 
'Comfort Station' at Jewel Cave National Monument in South Dakota.  The US 
Park Service wanted to cut-back on the quantity leaving their existing 
leaching field because effluent was starting to percolate down into the 
caves.  Obviously this is not optimum, so waterless urinals were utilized.

They work pretty well and as I remember, there is a sparay for daily (weekly?) 
cleanup.
