Hi Allen,

That vinyl is pretty well bonded to the aluminum, the heat of the stove 
must have melted it some. There is no way to remove it that I ever heard 
of, the only thing to do is replace it with something.  An Airstsream 
dealer can get you sheets of the shiny aluminum that you can repalce 
that section with, or you can hope to find a junk AS that you can get a 
sheet out of to match.  There isn't much that will stick to that 
original wall covering, although somepeople have managed to paint it.
