[VAL] Back-up light fixtures

Just finished getting all the lights working on our '72 Trade Wind.  
Most simply needed cleaning as the lamp bases were badly corroded.  The 
back-up lights are a different story.  Both have badly rusted sockets 
which need replacing.  It looks like these were installed from the 
inside.  Is this correct?  Will I have to get to them from inside the 
trailer?  Maybe I really don't need back-up lights.
