Dan, 

I installed one on my '71.  It was not too difficult.  The drain 
pan is around $50 from any AS dealer.

You will have to pull the A/C off to install the drain pan.  Pull 
the inside cover off first to make sure you have the drain tube.  
Mine was on the street side and drained in the street side wheel well.
