[VAL] RE: VAL Air Conditioner Thermostat Installation

Sorry -- I wasn't too clear on the problem.  We know where the wall 
thermostat goes, but there is a rather large unit that replaces the unit 
that goes to the knob controls on the new AC.  When taking off the inside 
cover, there doesn't appear to be a place large enough for this unit.  I 
think we have since solved the problem by putting this unit in one of our 
overhead compartments.  We did this by splicing the wiring to extend its 
length.  When running the AC from the original knobs there is no setting for 
auto fan.  So the fan actually runs all the time when you have the cooling 
system turned on.  Only the compressor cycles on and off -- that is why we 
wanted to install the wall thermostat.
