Marg:  I'm no expert, but I don't think you have to convert them at all. 
The appliances should work equally well on butane and propane.  The main 
difference is that butane freezes at about 32 degrees, so is/was used 
only in warmer climates, whereas propane freezes at a lower temperature 
so is now widely used as being more practical.
