Re: [VAL] Homecoming Rally

Brad:

With their polished aluminum skins, both trailers looked longer and
sleeker than their actual 22' length.

Bob and Sharon's Flying Cloud is serial number O-3001, the first 21'
Flying Cloud built at the Ohio plant. Although completed in September,
1952, it is listed as kicking off the 1953 model. Also in attendance
was the retired worker who built the 13 panel vertical end caps on their
trailer. He said Wally sent out an experienced riveter from California
to teach him and his co-worker how to assemble the 13 end caps.

Dicky Riegel's beautifully restored 22' trailer is a 1955 Ohio built
Custom Flying Cloud with the 13 panel sloped rear end, serial number
O-3300C. The 1955 Ohio Flying Clouds began at serial number O-3240, so
Dicky's is the 61st FC built in the 1955 model year, which began in
November 1954. The Service Center crew did a superb job in getting this
old Cloud Flying again.

Airstream's hospitality was awesome. It was a very casual and
relaxing 5 days of chatting, seeing and learning. I was in magpie mode
most of the time there, yakkity yakkity yak...
