Thanks to Peter Ryner, Karl Larsen, and Dr. J. for the additional info 
on my Armstrong AC.  I tracked down a friend today with AC expertise 
and he is coming by tomorrow to look at the unit.  I have printed off 
your emails and will show them to him.   We had a brief talk today but 
he was enroute to elsewhere and we arranged an appointment for 
tomorrow.  I am getting more optimistic about saving the Armstrong.
