We're sorry to hear you had to go thru all that.  We've been stranded in
strange towns, parking lots, even our own back yard, broken down, or
flat tires, but we've always carried Good Sam's road service.  This past
year, with tire problems, has more than paid for all our years of
coverage.  And they cover all your vehicles.
And usually because Good Sam contracts with the shop you have some
backup support.  It isn't like just taking your chances with a strange
dealer or tow service.
After you make a call, they tell you about how long a wait until a
service will arrive, then they call when they arrive and again after
they leave.  So you have several opportunities to speak to someone.
The only time we had a problem was trying to call from a payphone in
Sault Sainte Marie.  The 800 number is some kind of "collect call" to
the pay phone.
