[VAL] Wheel balancing.

Wheel balancing on the trailer, is great. Unfortunately, you can get hurt
doing it that way. Also the equipment to do that seems to have disappeared.

Over 30 years ago, Snap On tools came out with a very simple balancer. It
balances better that the tire shops can do.

We balance race car tire wheel hub and drums far better than the tire shops.

We use the same method of balancing Airstream and Argosy trailer tire
wheels hub and drums as an assembly.

There is a short story and photo's of how we do it on out web site,
_www.inlandrv.com_ (http://www.inlandrv.com)

Click on articles and then go to "wheel balancing".

This type balancing, when done correctly, will last at least 10,000 miles,
unless the brakes are locking up.

The only hazard to this method is picking up the assembly. The "HUGE"
advantage is that you also can inspect the brakes and grease seals at the same time.

Interesting enough, throughout the years, 3 out of 4 owners that want "just
the wheel balance" also find out they have brake problems or leaky grease
seals.

That inspection, obviously, can't be done when balancing on the trailer.
