The 40 amp fuse in a 1/4" diameter fuse is beyond the limits of that
size of fuse made by most reputable fuse makers. However, some RV
catalogs do show that size fuse.

Installing a 11/32" diameter fuse holder and using the more commonly
available 11/32" diameter fuses will lead to longer fuse life and less
heating at the fuse holder.
