Oh, yes. There can be leaks at the seams. The black mastic applied on the
inside of the skin gets brittle and dry and cracked and stops performing
well. Use a lap joint or "gutter seal" caulk to fill the seams from the
outside. Gutter seal is a bit trickier to use than other caulk because it is
designed to "wick" into the joint or seam, so it takes a little practice
beforehand.
