    When I redid Bubbles, which already had a rear hatch that opened 
into the dead space under the then-existing rear bed - I walled off 
that area to product a outside access only storage space. Since it was 
walled off completely from the interior, I can stow sticky stuff like 
fishing waders & boots, utility items like jack stands and hoses and I 
even have a small ladder in there. And a nifty little florescent light. 
I'll send you some pics. Perhaps you can do something similar?
