RE: [VAL] Fan runs backwards

The fan is now sucking instead of blowing. Here is the fix.

Hold the motor so that you are looking at the fan blade shaft end. On
opposite sides, lets say east and west there are field windings. On the
north and south are the brushes. The east field and north brush are
wired to the red wire and the other field and brush to the black wire.
The motor runs one direction regardless of the 12vdc connection
polarity. If the brush positions are changed so that the east field and
south brush are wired to the red wire and the west field and north brush
to the black the motor runs the other direction.

The simple solution was to rotate the half motor case that holds the
brushes 180 degrees, and then the motor changes direction. Don't pinch
or break any wires.

This also explains why the motor ran the wrong direction after I had
cleaned it. Next time I will scratch orientation marks on the case
before taking it apart.

Best Regards,
