Re: [VAL] Tow Vehicle --dont forget about the brakes!!!

I've been watching the discussion about tow vehicles and wanted to share some
difficulty I am having with Ford on my 2002 Excursion. At 16,000 miles the
rotors warped and the dealer said turning them would fix the problem. At
23,000 miles they warped again. Dealer refuses to do anything more than turn
rotors yet again. This vehicle has only towed the trailer (7500 lbs) twice. It
has a tow cappacity of 11K or 12K lbs so it should not be overworking the
brakes. I have complained that there has to be more of a problem that needs
addressing, and have requested a Ford Service Zone Mgr contact me and have heard
nothing for a week now. Another friend with an F-250 pickup has been down the
same road and refuses to own another Ford after his treatment. If Ford will not
stand behind their vehicles, I do not care to own another myself. Prior to
stepping up to the diesel Excursion for its towing capabilities, I have had two
Suburbans; never a brake problem and was thrilled with them. I am really
beginning to wonder if the Excursion is all it should be - may be shopping for
another Suburban soon - it may not be as strong, but it will stop smoothly and
safely.
