RE: [VAL] QuadraTrak

I looked at the possibility of buying a Quadrasteer equipped Chevy
Suburban this past month to tow a '76 Sovereign, but for my needs
decided against it for the following fine print reasons in the '04
Suburban brochure (my comments in brackets):

"Requires Vortec 6000 V8 engine (Vortec 8100 not offered in conjunction
with Quadrasteer which I believe I need for my size trailer), liftgate
with liftglass (wanted Cargo/barn doors). Not available with power
sunroof or Snow Plow Prep Package (definitely wanted sunroof this time
around, but Quadrasteer adds roof maker lamps instead). The QUADRASTEER
option will reduce the maximum trailer weight rating by 300 lbs. (both
the 2WD and 4WD with the 3.73 axle ratios were cutting it close to my
comfort zone for maximum trailer weight)."

You may also want to check out an article in the July 2004 issue of
"Trailer Life" magazine, page 30, where they road test a Suburban
w/Quadrasteer and the Airstream Safari 28W.

Hope this is helpful to you in your research.
