[VAL] last ditch window question

I wrote in last week re: the 30' x 30" window fore the door on our 1979 
31' int'l. seal failure and leaks. I've decided to order a replacement 
window from the Grand Rapids MI dealer. The new ones are single pane 
(not insulating glass), but come in a frame ready to rivet in.
Anyone care to warn me off of this approach before I blow the $350?
