Alex-
When my '68 Safari exhibited the same sort of sagging symptom, it ended up 
that the bolts inside the door that secured the door to the hinge had rusted 
thru.  Before you do anything extravagant to the hinge pin, you might want to 
remove the inner skin of the door and inspect the connecting bolts.  Just my 
experience.
