Hot coals might warm me up a bit too much but it might condition me for whats to come ... Much safer to carry a flat piece of soapstone or heat a rock (not too much , rocks will spall and could hurt ya ) and warm up the bed that way . Chris (from Maine where it gets 3 clapboards below zero )
