Re: [VAL] Was 2004 international & Gas lamps

hi john
you are right about the build up that can occur in gas lines. i do not know
what it is but i have experienced the same thing. my purchase of a new
humphrey propane lantern included instructions that recommended copper
tubing with an interior plating. (i don't recall the type but zinc plate or
nickle perhaps) i had never heard of such a thing but it might be related to
the build up within plain copper tubing. i did not use the plated stuff as
the people in the big box stores did not know what i was talking about. as
to your problem, although simple, most propane lanterns have a valve, seals,
gas nozzle (jet orifice), burner nose and a bunsen, any of which could
become worn, clogged or damaged in such a way as to limit the proper flow of
gas resulting in incomplete burning. hope you figure it out and good luck
harry
