Dave,

Let me start by saying that I really like VW's (I have owned 4 so far).

While the trailer may meet VW's requirements for weight I would be extreemly
leery of purchasing a VW to tow anything larger than a small utility
trailer. They (at least in this country) have no experience in manufacturing
large vehicles, let alone something heavy duty enough to withstand the
rigors of towing.
