[VAL] Towing with a car

I would like your opinions as to the suitability of towing a 1979 23' 
Safari, with a gross weight of 5,800 lbs, with a 1977 Lincoln 
Continental.  The car has a 460 ci engine.  I realize that additional 
equipment such as hitch and transmission cooler will be required.  But I 
would like to know if the list believes that the car will tow the 
trailer without problems.  I know some of you tow with cars of this 
vintage.
