Ah - not so easy. The standard Thetford to Valterea fitting won't fit
a '64 Thetford fitting. Been there, done that. Have the useless adapter
and unused sewer solution to prove it! My plan is to one day cut off
the old fitting and weld on a standard thetford.

They make an adapter to go from Thetford TO Valtera fittings. Then you just
need to fit a Valtera slinky hose fitting onto the adapter. See? Easy -- I
think. ;)

Contact Out-of-doors Mart in North Carolina (Kernersville, maybe?) just
outside of Greensboro, NC -- which is where I bought my adapter to be able
to use the Sewer Solution hose instead of the stinky slinky.

One can learn to detect CO without a detector, but its not fun
finding the CO. I've been there twice. Once in an old camper and
once in the house. Clues include a metallic taste in the mouth and a
splitting headache. The next step is inability to focus and bad
balance. Then a coma. It can take a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to
recover from the coma if found in time. A new CO detector did
wake me up in the camper and I got out on my own.

Hello,
My wife & I are going to volunteering for three months
next fall on the Oregon coast. Do any of you have
advice/experience about the effects on the
skin/clearcoat when parking our '96 Airstream trailer
about 500' from the ocean? We recently had the skin
refinished & are very protective of it.
Thank you for your help!
Joseph & Vicky

this is for the full timers out there.

what do you use to get your US mail sent on to you ?

How does that work with packages ?

How do I get something sent to where ever when I order off the internet
or out of a catalog?

I looked at SKP's services, seems good to me, but want other choices.

Daisy -

When ordering off the internet, I have my packages sent UPS or Fedex
to my current location at whichever camp ground I'm at.

For my I us a private service from my old office, if that ever dry's up I'm
going with SKP or the outfit out of South Dakota, I think it's called
Alternative Solutions.

Hi Jerry,

I don't see the start-up amps mentioned in the documentation.
The Coleman unit comes from Airxcel, Inc. however, and there is a lot of
documention on their website in PDF format. To get it, go to
http://www.rvcomfort.com/rvp/products/rooftop/Stan_mach3_1.php. The PDF
file links are in the box on the left side of the web page.

Hi All,

This will be my first winter with the two 80 watt solar panels on top
of Pearl. (54 Flying Cloud) I kind of remember what the guy who
installed them at the International said about when to switch to shore
power for alternate charging of the batteries BUT I am a bit fuzzy
about it. I can switch between charging with the panels or electricity
and am not sure whether I should keep it on solar for the winter and
run out to check the monitor or just use shore power for the winter.
Any suggestions???

Yes Dave, that is the exact one I put in my FC. I did an internet
search and found it a lot cheaper at a marine supply place in Calif. I
think I paid $475 for it. It heats my 21 ft. trailer to around 70 deg.
with the blower on in the dead of winter!! The furnace in Pearl was in
the floor and I didn't want it there so I switched to the fireplace.
Besides great heat it looks so peaceful watching the flames burn. It
vents out the roof so doesn't need a window cracked. I'm VERY happy
with it. If anyone wants a photo of it installed in my FC email me.

Greetings Patti!

I have an AJL Solar installation on my '64 Overlander with
inverter/charger, and three gel cell batteries. The only time that I
connect my coach to shore power when parked during the off-season is
when I wish to operate the air conditioner. The solar panels and solar
charge controller have maintained my batteries beautifully for more than
three years now (I had the installation completed at the Sioux Falls, SD
International Rally). During much of the off-season storage time, both
of my Fantastic Vent fans are set to run on low speed in automatic mode
governed by the thermostat control.

I can identify with your packing nightmare as I am experiencing the
after-effects -- the unpacking once the moving truck departs at the
destination.

Good luck with your move!

Kevin
