The best way to cut almost any plastic is with a band saw. Use
a fine tooth blad and it cuts like butter. Since the band saw
blade is long it stays cool and you don't have any problems
with the plasric melting while you cut.

I have this old trailer and the valve control for the black water
came out in my hand. This control has been bad for several years. If I
need a new valve where can I buy one? I plan to cut a hole in the bottom
skid panel to get to this raskal. I can figure out about where the valve
handle connects to the valve and start cutting a hole about there. How
big a hole does it take?
Thank you.

If its anything like my 75 the rear section should come out when you remove
the bumper. There are a number of valves so you may have to go to an
Airstream dealer to get it matched (at least thats what I did). In my case
everything was glued together, so I just cut everything out and put all new
plumbing. Worked great - is like new now.

Hi Folks,

My new storage spot in Hollywood is so tight I find myself unable back my
trailer in due to the length of my crew cab long bed truck. It is longer
than the trailer!

I do have a front reciever, so I managed to finally get it parked.

I'm looking for a used electric trailer dolly if anyone has one they are
willing to part with.

Thanks!

Courtney

Hi Ken their must have been a change. My trailer has a large heavy
pan uner both holding tanks and all the plumbing therein. I can take out
40 bolts and the pan will fall off I expect. I'm 70 years old and not
sure I can ever get it back up! My bumper might be integral to all this
but the stuff I need to work on is available from a hole I think, hope.

If you go the hole route - I would think about a 9inch by about 24 inch if
you have to cut out all the plumbing. I would start with a small hole
right under the valve - some of those valves can be rebuilt, so you may be
able to separate the valve where the gate slides in - pull out the old,
install the new. Hope this makes sense - if not please let me know......
hopefully you'll get some other responses here that will help too.

Hi Ken yes it sounds good to me. But I have no idea where to get a
new valve if I must have it. Or a replaceable part. what I will do is
what you suggest. I have a good pair of clippers. I will have to drill a
few holes to start but will do them close to the rear bumper so I don't
drill into something important.

Glyn,

Don't be embarassed about asking, we are listening hard and
taking notes for the day when we tackle this. Or maybe we
are too chicken....

Your wrassles with your trailer are EXACTLY what makes good
reading on this list.

Keep it up !
