    Uwe,

Thanks, here they are. There's no manufacturers name shown just the
number 3618 and some instructions saying to screw the metal flange down.
The inner plastic (ABS?) is firmly attached to the beige vinyl ring.

Thanks for the offer of help. Can you recommend a supplier as there are
virtually none any near Santa Monica so I'll have to order by phone or the
net. I even went to Inland RV's web site and couldn't find anything listed.

    Regards,

Search for "closet flange" at www.mcmaster.com. They show a replacement
metal ring and an adjustable (but not threaded) composite flange made of
plastic with a metal ring.

Most closet flanges in the home centers are made for 3 or 4" PVC traps
and there's not a whole lot of variation, for sure no threaded
adjustable height that I recall or find in my Home Depot Pro Book.

With an adequately sized metal lathe, I don't see that it would be a
problem to make threads on a flange if one could find one or adapters
that were the right size of raw material.

So, what was it and where? The only reason the rest of us haven't needed
one is that we've not dug that deep yet but we will need to someday,
probably sooner than later.

    Gerald and all,

Here's his note to me. It turns out that my flange is only 2" high and
I don't remember the part number for that one. When it arrives I can pass
that number on.

I'll send the images of my flange back channel to you for comparison.

Dear Glyn,

This is a standard RV toilet flange ( AKA Closet Flange). The new ones
will not have the metal ring, but will be made from all plastic. I
bought mine at Travelland's RV Supply Store in Irvine CA. It's called
EL Toro RV, their number is 949-559-1996
You might ask for one of their large catalogs, which is a treasure book
of RV stuff. Almost worth the 5 bucks they charge for it.
I believe I bought their part number 21350, 4x3 hub closet flange, 2.75
overall height.
Travelland is on the Southern end of Irvine, right off of I5 and Sand
Canyon, or off of 405 S, East on Sand Canyon, then just before the I5 on
the left side.
I hope this helps.

Uwe

Gerald,
Thanks for the reply. After the message about Campers Choice, I was
able to find another online camping supply place that appears to have the
correct lamp. They seem to call this lamp in as a "courtesy lamp", rather
than a licsene plate lamp. Thanks again for the effort.

Sounds a lot like the license plate lamp from Grote that I used on the
back of my Caravel in place of the rusted out original. Grote does offer
a replica Airstream license plate lamp, but I concluded the design was
to bad as to be totally rotten that I didn't want to replace it again
soon so I went with the Grote and made a suitable mounting plate.

In my 2001 Byerly RV catalog I see a fixture for license plate lighting
that seems to also meet your description. Chrome plated steel with a
mounting plate. Byerly catalog number 11308, manufacturer number C149,
its not clear who the maker is. A google search might turn up more
information and sources.
