Actually, there are more than just 2 types of fittings. Some may
interchange, others won't; like the Thetford.
I bought one of these "adaptors" I told you about so I'd be able to use the
new Sewer Solution I purchased a while back. The original hose end for the
Sewer Solution didn't and wouldn't fit the Thetford connector on my trailer.
However, even using the "adapter" on the Sewer Solution connector is proving
to be a chore!
Reason? I believe it's the O-ring in the "bottom" of the connector (not the
adaptor) that needs to be lubricated so that when I "PUSH" the Sewer
Solution connector "on" it will slightly depress the O-ring which will allow
it to then be able to "twist" and "lock" in place.
I have some teflon-based tow-hitch ball lubricant I am going to coat the
Sewer Solution O-ring with and from then on it "should" work nicely.
IF your problem is that even with the adaptor for the other brand of
connector it won't "fit right" then I would suspect a dry seal which you
will want to lubricate so it doesn't tear.

Check to see if it has any petroleum based solvents in it. If so,
you might want to try something else. Underwater photographers
deal with rubber O-rings on cameras and housings all the time, and
the manufacturers specify silcone grease for lubing them. Silcone
grease will not attack most kinds of plastics and rubber.
The purpose of the grease is not to make the seal, but rather allow
the ring to slide on the mating surfaces, rather than squirm and
bunch which would prevent a good seal from being made. You don't
need a lot, just an even thin coat. The ring should end up being
uniformly smooth and shiny.

Subject: [VAL] 72 Globetrotter
I'm helping my daughter restore her '72 Globetrotter.
Someone had added a grey water tank made from sheetmetal and has
completly rusted away , the black water tank is existing and in the
original location.
Can anyone help in how to put it back to original in the plumbing
configuration?
It would be great if anyone knows the original piping set up or direct me
to photos.
I received from great information from Daisy previously.
Thanks,
John Wilson

Subject: [VAL] Airstreams for Sale
I posted earlier about a 1966 30 ft. Airstream for sale at Dowling Park,
Florida. I ran out to see it today. There is also a 27 ft. 1969 Overlander
for sale for $2,500. I have no connection with the owners and will not
benefit in any way from the sale of these units. If anyone is interested,
please contact me privately and I'll be glad to pass along my opinions.
Please keep in mind that I am not an expert.

My wife's gonna be so mad if/when she finds out that I'm going to go look at
it this weekend. Maybe I can put it on my property in Blackshear, GA. For 12
years she didn't even know I had a boat over there. Maybe a good place to park
a spare Airstream.

I saw the following ad in our local Swapper and thought someone might be
interested. I have not been out to see it, and will not benefit in any
way
from its sale.
"Airstream 30, trailer. No Leaks. Good tires. Must see. $1,800 OBO
386-658-1220 any time."
I did call to find out that it is a 1966. The seller's first name is
Orren.
The trailer is located in Dowling Park, Florida. That is about 40 miles
west southwest from the intersection of I-10 and I-75 at Lake City,
Florida.
