Hi folks
It's me - I wanted to let everyone on the list know that Pat and I
have recently received bogus emails asking for credit info such as
social security numbers, bank card numbers, etc. One supposedly was
from Citibank and one was from eBay. Both messages had all the proper
looking logo's and bells & whistles and looked authentic. I sent mine
to eBay security - they have a terrific site with info on what they
call "spoof" mail. In fact that's where I learned that the dang
Citibank scam was occurring. When Pat attempted to cut and paste the
bogus Citibank message so he could send the band a copy however, the
message "pasted" as something totally different. Whoever does this scam
is really smart.
So, I just wanted to add my warning not to send any info via email
to any unsolicited email you might receive. I got the eBay one Sunday
and Pat got the Citibank one this morning so they've really been busy.

This is not an appropriate message for this list. Send out all of the
warnings of this sort you want to, but not to the list!

I have to question if this is not appropate for the list scams need as wide a
croverage as possable If that message saved just one of our listees from
falling into a trap in my ooenion it served its purpose. cirntly it is very
different than an attack on an individual liste or promoting ones personal politics
or religion.
Just my opinion but what do I know?

I have to agree with you Jim...it's not like it was ten pages with
attachments, or a blatant attempt to make money on our list members. Her
motive was clearly in our behalves and I, for one, appreciated the 'heads up'.

Further, if someone is going to chastise another, THAT ought to be kept
private, and not done in front of everyone.

And even further, the entire message was included with the scolding...isn't
that a breech of the rules, as clearly stated on the bottom of every post we
get?

Subject: [VAL] 1966 Airstream for Sale

I saw the following ad in our local Swapper and thought someone might be
interested. I have not been out to see it, and will not benefit in any way
from its sale.
"Airstream 30, trailer. No Leaks. Good tires. Must see. $1,800 OBO
386-658-1220 any time."
I did call to find out that it is a 1966. The seller's first name is Orren.
The trailer is located in Dowling Park, Florida. That is about 40 miles
west southwest from the intersection of I-10 and I-75 at Lake City, Florida.
