You might try a product called Gel Coat. In a pink can. It
is a cleaner and polish and when dry, you buff it out and it
leaves a wax coating. Appears to be realted to Walbernize.

Another thought would be Rain-Ex, that is used on car
windshields.

And also spray with silicone ?

I just had a sort of Three Stooges solution: spray the
blades with 409 and turn the fan on. That way you have to
clean the whole trailer instead of the fan blades..;}

Here's a new sewer valve you can just twist on to use. What a good idea.
Probably would be good to carry as a spare in case of old valve failure.

Dear Daisy,

It seems like all these solutions, as well as others posted, are sort of
anectdotal "old wives tales". Certainly somewhere in the highly capitalized
world of electronics, there are geniuses that don't want the fans on their
supercomputers to look like the filter on an EasyBreeze Air Cleaner and have
developed a specific solution.

If that is the case then I figured that, with all the tech genius on
Airstream.net that somebody would know of such a product.

Rain X sounds interesting. I don't like the ideea of having to wax the
blades and cages. Much too labor intense for something that we are not sure
will work. Spraying silicone is a definite posibillity, but I have to clean
them first, so I thought I'd do all the research I could before applying any
chemicals.

Thanks to you and Gerald and all for suggestions thusfar.

I use an adapter because I got worn out looking for, and paying for Thetford
stuff.

There is a Thetford to "everyone else" adapter.

Hi Roger, most RV supply places carry them....

There's one on the Valterra website.... scroll down almost to the bottom of
the page and you'll see the "Universal Adapter"
http://www.valterra.com/RV/term_assemblies.htm

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy
shit...what a ride!"

Subject: [VAL] aluminum in Castaic CA

I was driving north on I-5 thru' Castaic, California (just a few miles north
of Burbank heading up over the pass) the other day and noticed at least six
vintage-looking trailers in a muddy field next to the freeway.

I think it was right where the north and south bound lanes of I-5 cross over
each other to go up the canyon.

Some were the type that have many "petal" shaped roof pieces coming together
over the rear window -- forgive my ignorance -- early sixties maybe?

anyone know anything about that motley collection of trailers?

can't resist looking in back yards for lonely vintage aluminum trailers on
my travels around western North America
