Hey Bob! Welcome back! You were one of the very first people I corresponded with way back
when I had my 67 Safari. I'm about to leave Long Island with my 54 Flying Cloud the end of
June for my new home in Boulder, Colorado.

Speaking of other makes, I have seen a 1961 Avion that is in beautiful
condition and
looks like a pre-1954 Airstream with its 13 segment front and rear caps and
old style windows. Could I just slap on the fifties style light blue Airstream
plaquareds they sell at Airstream Dreams and attend a rally? Just kidding!
Maybe someone should start a Vintage Silverstream Club.
I've had my Overlander in storage since last spring when I bought it to
replace the 1956 Overlander I had which was falling apart and beyond my
capabilities. This one was used as a vacation cottage under a roof and does not have a
single dent or blemish on its skin or belly. Because of time restraints I just
now brought it home and am starting to polish it. It is so much fun because
for some reason there is not a whole lot of oxidation on it and the job is
coming along quickly. I have an unlikely tool. It is a Turtle Wax brand 6"
orbital polisher and I prefer it to my more expensive 10" polisher because it has
more torque, I have more control in tight spaces and it seams to clean and
polish the same sized areas faster than the 10"model. By the way I notice that
1958, the year of my Overlander, was the first year they had color options on
appliances in other trailer brands. I am going to paint my stove and
refrigerator pastel flamingo pink which was popular and sew up some curtains in pink,
grey, and turquoise reprduction barkcloth fabric in the boomerang and atomic
patern that were the rage in the late fifties. Havin' fun up here in WA.

Hi Patti,
It's amazing how a name or circumstance comes back from the past. I hope
that you are doing well. I sure am! I have gotten past a heart attack with
a triple bypass surgery last year and I feel much fitter now.
Life is beautiful!
Aloha,
Bob

Cheyyane,
I'm located in Port Angeles WA, gateway to the Olympic National Park and
across the pond from Victoria Canada. I know of beautiful waterfront and mountain
places to park. If anyone else is interested, maybe we could have a mini
ralley, I could play tour guide.

Sounds good to me. Port Angeles is a nice place; we went there many
times while living in Port Townsend. It is a beautiful area, isn't it?

How about a new Confederacy that combines the West Coast North Eastern
states and Canada, all joined together in a new Union of Provinces and
States based on rational and democratic principles? This would leave
the cowboy heartland and the South to the creationist fate they deserve
not to mention the series of hurricanes that either the global
warming they dont believe in or the God they do is sending as a
message to them. --Ian Williams, Alternet

Yes, Port Angeles and the surroundings are beautiful. From the south we get
an alpine view of the snow capped Olympic mountains and to the north we
overlook the Straight of San Juan DeFuca and see the ships heading for Seatle from
the Pacific and we can see the distant buildings and city lights of Victoria
B.C. . There are hot springs in the National Park, a gorgious rain forest,
mountain look outs where you can see all the San Juan Islands, Mnts Baker and
Rainer and the Cascade mountains and see clear to Seattle. There are all
kinds of festivals in the summer including the International Jazz Festival,
International Lavender festival and the crab festival. You can catch dungeness
crabs, dig for clams and oysters and there are several beautiful rivers for
fishing. Come one come all!
