What with the recent talk about Captain Tolley - I stopped by my local West
Marine store near Lake Union here in Seattle today to read the information
label on a bottle of Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure - and was
intrigued by the sound of it. They had an ample supply of the stuff on
their racks.

http://www.captaintolley.com

Also - here is a bit of info on it from an epoxy products website:

http://www.epoxyproducts.com/capt.html

By the time I got home I'd forgotten the direct http address in the United
Kingdom for Captain Tolley - so went to look for it via Google tonight and
could not find it....the product I'd looked at in West Marine had a "uk"
suffix to the http address...which just would not pull up - nor would it
show via Google. But I finally found it via Yahoo (and it now has a ".com"
suffix.)

In the process of searching through United Kingdom RV info I came across an
English Caravan supply store - and found this page which showed a type of
waste water handler I'd not seen before (though I don't shop for water water
handlers very often...) anyway it looked like another good way of "moving"
gray and black water.

The Aquaroll:

(also have a chuckle over the "Water Geezer Mains Adapter")

http://www.caravanadditions.co.uk/acatalog/Aquaroll.html

Actually - of interest to me is the design of the Watermaster - as it
mentions the ability to carry a "cassette" to a waste disposal site. I have
been looking at the "cassette" type RV toilets to "adapt" into my '57 Flying
Cloud - to bypass the need for a black water tank.

http://www.thetford.com/portable_cassette.cfm

I'm interested in the C-200 model with the swivel seat.

With something like the "Wastemaster" cart - you could haul your graywater
held in the Wastemaster along with your black water held in the cassette -
to the dump site all in one trip - while remaining parked and set up for an
extended stay in a park with dump facilities.

Just sharing a few items I came across while looking for more info on
Captain Tolley - since there has been so much talk about it recently.

THE APPRENTICE
Just thought people would be interested to know that next Thursday, on
THE APPRENTICE, Donald Trump will be giving the 2 teams a new
assignment. The assignment will be to convert 2 Airstreams into some
sort of business of their choice... It should be interesting.

For appraisals you might also try Walt Barksdale of Walt's RV in Ocala

He has been repairing, buying and selling Airstreams for many, many years.

I can attest to his ability and fairness, having used him for various
repairs since 2000 and have purchased three Airstreams from him since 2002,

He has been a great help working with my insurance when I had front end
damage from a blown truck tire.

he's usually at the Sarasota gathering.

His phone number is 352-237-6813.

What are "serviced pitches"? I read the Aquaroll and Water Geezer
descriptions and don't understand that terminology.

Subject: [VAL] Overlander Toilet Question

We have a 1965 Overlander, with the toilet under the formed fiberglass seat/shelf.
The slide valve leaks when the pedel is depressed. I removed the toilet, disassembled
the toilet, and found cracks in the plastic slide unit. Does anyone know of replacementb
parts for a Thetford that old, does anyone one have an old toilet with that part
servicable, or know of a replacement toilet without cutting out the fiberglass? Any
help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Likewise, I have a problem removing the original toilet from my '66
Overlander. I have everything removed now, but the toilet. I have the two
nuts removed and the two bolts holding down the toilet are completely loose,
but I can not get the toilet free from the floor. When I pull up on it the
entire black tank assembly and sewer drain move with it. I'm not sure what
is holding it in place. The plywood is 85% rotted out, and I am certain that
if I really put my back into it I could rip the toilet up from the floor,
but I don't want to damage the black tank if I can help it. I may or may not
keep the toilet (it worked fairly well, but leaked at the water inlet), but
I have to get it off to work on the plywood floor. Any ideas? Is there a
metal ring under the toilet base? Is the ring corroded, and is the corrosion
holding the toilet in place?
