Sellers can reject bids and buyers can withdraw them. For various reasons.
They may be reading this list.

I'm looking for 13" tires for my '61 Bambi. (I don't have enough wheel
clearance to move up to 14's). Has anyone had experience with Carlisle Sure

If you go to radial tires, they won't use up the wheel well swelling like bias
ply tires and there may be room for 14" tires in the Bambi wheel wells.

Subject: [VAL] going to two batteries

Hello all-
I'm interested in replacing the standard lead acid battery in our 1979
@ 31' with (preferably) two glass mat batteries to greatly increase our
ability to go without A/C power for longer periods of time. Our coach
came with one lead acid, accessed through it's own door from the
outside front. The compartment is sealed from the interior of the coach
and can accommodate only one battery.
What's my best course of action re: installation of two batteries- in
parallel? My fuse panel has "battery #2" AGU 50 fuses installed (there
are four AGU 50 fuses total: one positive for battery 1, one positive
for battery 2; one negative for battery 1 and one negative for battery
2). I'm not sure if this would have been for an optional second
battery, and if so, should I consider wiring the batteries in to the
fuse box separately? Lastly, do glass mats need to be vented, and are
they still considered "state of the art"?
I use a 60 amp Intelli-Power and charge wizard.

As usual, thanks in advance for the sage advice!

I certainly hope this trailer is saved and restored, because it is the only
one
left that I know of with a rear bedroom door. That model was also named the
Liner Comodore Vanderbuilt, after Wally Byams friend Cournealius "Neal"
Vanderbuilt Jr.. Neil was an Airstream enthusiest and traveled with Wally
around
Europe by Airstream around 1950, using Neil's connections to open doors for
future European Caravans. There is a picture of a Liner Commodore Vanderbuilt
with
Wally peering through a roof hatch in an early 1950's Airstream ad.

As Scott stated in his article, the dues year was changed to match that of
WBCCI, which means the renewal month should be July. However, the bottom of
the article states "It is time to renew your subscription to the VA......."

As I recall, when Wayne and Linda Moore were handling the membership, they
always sent out renewal notices. I would like to see that continued. As
far as cost, the notices could be mailed under the same permit number that
the VA is mailed under, reducing the cost a bit.

The stabilizer setup on my rig is very close to the spare, but there is just
enough clearance to flip the hinge. I noticed that when I had the spare off
and replaced it, I had to mess with it a bit to get it back far enough to
clear the flipper. I would check that first and secondly maybe the flipper
hinge is mounted too far back. If messing with the spare doesn't work, let
me know and I'll take some measurements. Could the spare be the wrong size,
as in too wide?

I like separate fusing for the two batteries. I'm not much of a fan of the
tiny AGU 50 fuses though. They are small for the current and are not
common anywhere but big RV stores. Being small leads to more heat at
their connections and then short fuse and fuse clip life.

For 50 amp circuits I'd prefer something 11/32 or 13/32 inch diameter to
have a greater contact surface.

Electrically fusing both positive and negative leads is not necessary but I
suppose the negative fuse makes a convenient point to open when
working around the battery terminals with a wrench. That minimizes the
shorts when the wrench touches the positive terminal an the grounded
frame or shell.

List,
I have made arrangements to pick up Bill's airstream on monday. Not sure if
I'm going to restore it or not, but it won't go to the crusher. I haven't
finished my '68 yet, but at least it is usuable so the wife hasen't
objected. I've already made three calls to the Florida DMV and received
three different answers on registration and title requirements. We're going
to attempt to get a temp tag so I can legally transport here to the Tampa
area. I have a covered area to store it in - at least for a while. If
anyone is interested in purchasing, please contact me off list. I mention
purchase as it is going to take a lot of effort and some $$ to secure
title/registration and to make it roadworthy, if just for the 100 mile trip
home. My main interest is keeping the trailer intact and restored.

The WBCCI membership year starts July 1st, so if the VAC has changed their
year to match the WBCCI, our dues will also need to be paid at the same
time.

Um er, I'm not sure this is quite right, but I'm gonna
check. I know we changed the VAC dues date this year....Look
for a bulletin from me or Scott.

Confused ? You bet!

Jim,
We have a 61 16' and it is equipped with 14" radial tires by Goodyear.
There appears to be plenty of room for them.

I can get the size in the A.M. and send it to you off line if you like.

I found Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure at Camping World. This was the
small sized bottle .... for good measure I had West Marine order the big
bottle for me that is about $15.00 but they had to "bring it in" from a
store in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Pick up your copy of the Vintage Advantage, issue #2, Q4, Vol 11, 2004 and
turn to page 26. That's the information Scott referred to in his earlier
post.
