Joann,

In that part of the country do you have to say, "Aw, shucks!" while looking
down at your barefoot toe twirling the dust? Here in the South that would
be appropriate -- course wearing bib overalls AND going barefoot AND digging
your big toe into the dust would also be required to do it up right. Do
this and I guarantee you someone WILL ask you to come to the dance! Just
remember who brung you and swung you! ;)))

Just $1.00 a year membership dues? Please send me an application. Is the

probably will, I love the Pacific NW.

I had Tad Taylor move my spare on my 69 Caravel from the front to
under the hitch like the newer bambi. Had to cut out the front
underpan and construct a "open box" for the tire to fit up under the
front. I moved it because we do not use propane. My wife reacts to
the fumes. Therefore we needed to clean up the hitch reduce weight
for a battery box. Plan is to mount at least 4 six volt batteries in
place of the propane tanks.

I think that those people bidding don't know anything about the repair of an

Would you join a golf club without ever playing on their golf course? Would
you buy shoes without trying them on? Would you buy a truck without test

Would you marry......

The way it works in reality, is since you need to reserve a spot at the
rally, when you contact the rally organizer for reservations, you are
basically attending as their guest. Just don't try and take advantage
of it the next year if it is an annual event - you are expected to have
joined if you enjoyed yourself!

Best of luck,

Could you scan it and e-mail it?
If so I'd like to see it, my '73 has a place for the tire under the front but
the bars are not there. If you can't scan it send me your PH# and I'll call
you and let you know my answering machine is off before you FAX it.

My '68 Caravel had some sort of tire holder up front on the front wall of
the trailer. That likely protected the skin from the tire. I don't know what it
looked like, my dad took it off to make room for the battery to be outside
the trailer. Its probably still around his (now my) house somewhere in the
garage or chicken house.

Some of the remaining rivets are visible in the first picture on my Airstream
pages (http://www.gerald.networkiowa.com/caravel.htm).

I have a bracket in the bed of my truck that holds the truck spare under
the topper (less handy for those who would borrow the spare with
nothing more than a jack handle, but I think handier for me to access)
and I roll the trailer spare next to it and tie it with a rubber strap. That has
worked for a few thousand miles.

I've recieved several inqueies (sp) from the list. I believe Tom has pictures

landlord and I'm going to contact the guy that gave it to me to get the rest of
his stuff out. I don't want anything for it. The
first truck that drags it away owns it (there is no title).
I'll leave it in place until 20 March, then it has to go (landlord says "don't leave

Hi Uwe:
It's just that I'm only curious. and most of my time is spent fly
fishing, planning to fly fish, cleaning gear and repairing stuff after
fly fishing, etc. I spent 2 yrs getting the Bubble geared up as a
flyfishing shack on wheels and I don't think rallys will be a big part
of my life but again, I'm just curious. Thank you for the information
and your experience. My parents did the rallies and stuff for at least
10 years and it was some of the best years of their lives I'm sure.

No donation is needed. What I need is for someone to come drag it away. Call it a
donation. Make it a club project and use it at
rallies and such as a club HQ and an info centers at Non-Airstream rallies to showcase
the 50's. etc. I just need to get it moved
as I have a short time frame to pack the house and move. Bill P.

Bill,

Sorry to hear of your family loss. I monitor the Vintage Airstream List and
have been reading past posts regarding your trailer. If you haven't found a
taker for the trailer, Please let me know as I will find someone to take it
or I will retrieve it myself. How far are you from Dade City? We have
friends there, that may allow us to store it until ready to get it.
I assume you will take a small donation rather than scrap it.

The trailer you have, has some unique features, but needs a total
remanufacture. I do this for a hobby but my barn is just about full, so I
will entice friends that may be interested.

Let me know! We hate to see these Icons of American culture bite the dust!

PS can you send the link to the pics again?

If you are asking about joining the WBCCI, I joined 25 years ago and still
very much enjoy the organization. Join a unit and get involved by becoming a
rally chairman or an officer in the unit. Its really not much work and you get to
know the people really fast. Don't join as a member at large.
One of the best things about this organization is that you get to meet people
from all over the country, especially at the International and on National
Caravans. We went on the Lighthouse Caravan this past fall and the best thing
about the trip was meeting all the different people and traveling with them. It
was also a great caravan.
Join but get involved. You will have a fantastic time. Enjoy traveling and
maybe I will see you down the road. jauman2346@xxxxxxxxxx.com

Those "ghost bidders" would be *shills* would they not? Ebay frowns on
shills that are only there to up the bidding.

To all that helped me identify my found '54 liner, Thank You. My
wifes dad
passed last week and we have inherited (sp) his house in Jamestown, NY.
Because the liner is unable to make that long a trip yet I'm afraid
she'll
have to be scrapped. To avoid a "two home expense" we'll be leaving
Arcadia,
Fl no later than the first week in April, if not sooner. Good luck to
you
all. The passoin you show for these silver road warriors is astounding.
I'll stay on list untill I have to shut down internet service. Bill
