Hi Jim you are preaching to the choir here, but give us some more details on
the setup, parts and equipment, where to order, etc.
Thanks

I don't know about macerator pumps, but I have found a few sources
for water pumps.
RV stores tend to have the highest prices and the smallest selection.
I've not been in a local marine store being that fresh water boats often
don't have water systems and I'm more than 1000 miles from the seas
(good hurricane protection, but prone to blizzards and tornadoes).
Northern Tool and farm stores like Orcheln, TSC, Farm and Fleet, Farm
and Home, Farm and Family, Bucheit, Theisen's, and Shopper's Supply
often carry them in the crop sprayer section and a larger selection and
somewhat better prices than I've seen in RV stores.
The best selection and prices have been at agricultural sprayer stores,
specifically, Heartland Agri Supply at Ames (and Marshall, MO) IA and
Sprayer Specialties at Grimes, IA. Sprayer Specialties has a web page
and both have catalogs and 800 numbers (not in my hands for both at
the moment). Sprayer Specialties' catalog show's "list" prices but they sell
at half those prices. Ag sprayer diaphragm pumps (by Shurflo or Flojet)
often have internal parts with better chemical resistance than needed
by clean water but that doesn't hurt their performance and lifetime in
water.

Dan, a friend of mine has a 66 tradewind (24') with the "wedding cake" tail
lights as well. That was a very common light in that era and what Airstream
happened to put on them at the time.
About the bed...If you are referring to the gaucho/sofa...yes the vast
majority of them pull out to sleep 2 people---assuming that you like to be
close!

For those vintage trailer enthusiasts looking to accessorize "true" to the
age of their trailer, check out the "hot links" page on
http://www.atomic-ranch.com/hotlink.html
Lots of mid-century modern, right up to 1970's (mainly intended for home
interior decor, but some good stuff for Airstreams, too)
I am not associated with this website, or any of the links. Just an
enthusiast and recovering pack rat.

Hi All,
So I'm looking for opinions & recommendations about trailer covers. We have
a 1966 Safari & live in Southern Ca. It is currently under a hideous
temporary carport & I'm thinking about ordering a custom cover instead.

when i purchased my trailer it was outside and had a tarp on it. the wind
had the tarp flapping in the wind which caused abrasion to the aluminum and
black marks. i would only recomend the use of a cover if it was inside out
of the elements.

Hi Erica,
If you're talking about a fabric cover that ties down and around the
trailer, then it is not recommeded. Airstream says that the buffeting of
the fabric against the aluminum skin will create a haze on the surface
where there is contact. The recommendation is to Walbernize or wax the
exterior and leave it either in the open or in or under a structure (such
as a car port, barn, RV garage, etc.).

$49.99 is a very fine price for any flojet pump. A great bargain.
