FWIW I use Delorme Streets and Atlas 2004 mapping program on my laptop for trip
planning, it has several neat features, including the ability to change your
average speed and to tell the program you don't want to use Interstates. Another
feature that I have not succumbed to but, will eventually; is the ability to use
a GPS for real time route tracking and getting you back to where you wanted to go
after a foray off the beaten path. I typically drive 250-300 miles a day when
towing/vacationing. However in a time crunch I have pulled over 700 miles in a
single day. Not reccomended, but I was by myself and had to make it to certain
place by a certain time. Unfortunately my vacation time is at a premium so I have
difficulties allowing myself to ramble about, but my Wonderful Wife is making me
do it a little more as we continue to mature ;>) so there may be hope for me yet.

I have two Airstreams, one vintage and one not. As a member of VAC, does
WBCCI/VAC etiquette allow me to fly the VAC flag on the nonvintage Airstream
at WBCCI events?

Hi Bruce,

Flag etiquette as described in the WBCCI Blue Book is pretty extensive, but
it mostly only concerns the flying of the US flag with other flags. In
respect to your question here is the pertinent section:

THE UNITED STATES FLAG CODE (6/26/02)
(from the American Legion website)
Title 4, United States Code, Chapter 1
' 7. Position and manner of display
(f) When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies
are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter
should always be at the peak. When the flags are flown from adjacent
staffs, the flag of the United States should be hoisted first and lowered
last. No such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United
States or to the United States flag's right.

There does not appear to be any other rules concerning the flying of flags
and pennants of societies, and of course these rules only apply if you fly
the US Flag and/or the flag of your state. If you simply desire to fly
pennants and/or decorative flags do what you want. You are a member of the
VAC and there shouldn't be any problem flying that flag anytime or place
that you want.

It seems that a few weeks ago someone from Kentucky
had put out a post that they were looking for 31 foot
Airstream for sale. It seems to me that they were
looking for early 70's or late 60's. One that they
could work on.

If you are still looking contact me I may have what
you are looking for.

Bruce,

I would think that you could fly any flag having to do with or without
Airstream as long as it's done in good taste. I've seen POW-MIA flags
flying beside the American flag and the WBCCI flag before and we all respect
that I'm sure.
