Dr. J:
Let me be among the first to thank you for sharing all that history
of "one man's family" with us. It's a tale of an American family and I
hope a lot of us got to thinking back on our own parents and family
that gave us our start. We all have a lot to learn and I don't think
the folk on this board will ever stop trying. We appreciate your
expertise and we each contribute what we can. Merry Christmas to us all
and God Bless Us Everyone.

Might try contacting Brett Hall (Creative Industrial Arts Studios aka CIA) in Denver.
They've started restoring Spartan trailers and have been soliciting input from folks
on the Yahoo Spartantrailercoaches group about parts to consider reproducing. Might be
worth a call since the Bargman fridge style handles were also used on 1950's Spartans.

I just sent off an email to Brett requesting info on any possible door
handle replacement. Mine has pot-metal pox and is just barely
functioning as a latch - I had to put a real SS dead-bolt on the body
with the throw into the door for real locking power. Remind me to
describe how I locked myself in, one of these days.

Yes, 92 last December 3. Sang himself "Happy Birthday" sitting in a hospital room that day.
He was close to 80 when he started the Caravel restoration.

Gerald,
My condolences on the loss of your father.
I am a list lurker, not saying much, but you caught my attention with your
wonderful memories.
WBCCI number is 26925. I am also an amateur radio operator, WD6DBW. Perhaps
we can hook up some time. If you want to, e-mail me frequency and time.

I just uploaded some photos to the Vintage Airstream List's Photo Album
http://www.tompatterson.com/gallery/albums.php
These are pictures from a Tour of the Airstream Factory we took this summer.
I thought some of you might enjoy seeing them especially if you have not
been to the factory. There were several vintage trailers out front so we
got some nice closeup looks at Old GrandDad and Wally's gold trailer.
I also posted some pictures of Vintage Trailers from some Concourses we
attended this year.
Remember you can click on any picture to enlarge! The factory tour is in
several small albums to make it faster to load.

Brett and Joanne
I have 2 complete lock sets, one of which is a bit corroded, but the
other is in really nice shape, if that will help. Let me know and I'll
take the better one apart and ship it off to you, Brett if Joanne's is
not usable.

Tiny URL seems to have the hiccups tonight. (Too much eggnog?) Try the

Hi Matt:
The bezel piece is like mine, but my handle is a bit shorter. I'll
send a picture to you and Brett - very kind of you to offer and will
probably try to take advantage of your good nature.
