Forrest,
That is my estimate as well, but I won't know until I get up close and
personal with the unit. I'll be running out to MD to get it after
Christmas.

Matt,
I have a 1989 32 foot Squarestream. I think they were built as
Argosy's a year or two before that. Mine is single door, originally twins,
now queen. Side bath, dinnette.

I have been tying to light my flamingoes for several years, when you figure that one out,
let me know. I took the first version of a flamingo lamp to Estes Park rally but it was
not too successful.

I just bought a '72 Trade Wind Land Yacht but haven't brought it home
yet. I'm looking at some tree limbs in our drive and wondering if I'll
need to do some limb trimming. My question is, what is the height of a
Trade Wind?

See you down by the barn . . . .

Matt,

Nice looking coach you've gotten. Just about positive it is a 32'. The
front kitchen floor plan is quite rare. For the right person it is a
highly desirable layout.

The ebay pictures show a very predominate "Airstream" letterset on the
ends. These were the original squarestreams. My concern is the factory
records indicate they were only built in 1988-89. Starting in 1990 until
they ended production in 1992 they were labeled "Landyacht" with a very
small decal that said "by Airstream".

It is quite possible that the seller have a title which identifies it as
a 1991. However it is not uncommon for a trailer to be misidentified as
the year it was sold and not the model year the manufacturer built it.
The only way to be positive is to verify the VIN. The 10th character is
for model year: J=88,K=89,L=90,M=91

Even if it turns out to be an earlier coach you still got it for a very
good price. And historically it is of more interest if it is an older
coach. That would make it a true "Squarestream". These after all were
the coaches that set the club into such an uproar. The fuss eventually
ended in 1994 when all Airstream built coaches were allowed to join the
WBCCI.

Dick,

While your eyeballing those limbs don't forget added clearance for those
fun little storms you get there in Indiana.

Matt,

They were built from 1988-1992 under the names Airstream and Landyacht.

Jim,

I believe I have mentioned this before. I have a fake buzzard, complete
with real feathers, that I bought at Wal-Mart the day after Halloween a
couple years ago. You might want to check online at some Halloween
suppliers. Good luck.

Dick,
My 10ft warehouse door just clears the top of the A/C
shround on my Tradewind with new axles and Marathon
tires.
So, if you have 10ft of learance, then that should be
safe.
However, take a llook at teh trailer's top first, make
sure no antennae or other things might interfere with
your tree limbs.

Best wishes!
Uwe

Actually you need several feet more than this especially in Northern states
as branches move about in the wind and hang much lower in the spring when
loaded with leaves and wet.

I keep mine trimmed back to about fourteen - fifteen feet on a dry clear
calm day to be safe. Tree limbs grow back, the smoked plastic 14x26 solar
vent cover on top of my trailer as well as the SOLAR panels amongst other
components like the original plastic refrigerator vent cover and AC cover
are time consuming expensive repairs I don't need to do again...

Thank you for your kind comments and information, Charlie. It rather
looked like a 31 or 32 footer to me as well. Mama has always been in
lust with front kitchens, now she'll have a chance to live with one. It
seemed a pretty good price to me (at least from photos) so I took a
flier on it. Hope it is as nice in "person".

I don't think you mentioned whether you have OPD valves or not.
If you have the old style and want to change them there is a difference
between the ones for steel tanks and aluminum tanks.

Thanks for the info Dr.J, Jim, and Pete. The vote seems unanimous: look
to replace the regulator. I'm looking at the "propane auto changeover
two-stage regulator on Camping World's site:
