I have changed the program which provides the free classified ads on my
website. The old program, along with current ads is still on the site,
however it will be phased out.

The new program has several additional categories, and now allows pictures to
be inserted into the ads.

To see the new program, look under "Trailers" from the home page

Right. We were there last year. For those who haven't been, Region XI does
this rally every year, and at a mere fraction of the cost of the Good Sam
rally. It's a great experience, and lots more to see and do than just the
Balloon Festival.

Subject: [VAL] Dent

Hello: I can't believe after 34 years of no dents that I have managed to back
into a tree branch and now my 69 Tradewind has a dent in the rear street
side, right where the curve is. If I could get to the inside it looks like I
could just push it out and would only have a small scratch. How do the suction
puller things work on the skin? Would I be better to cut a hole on the inside
of the bathroom cabinet and try to tap out the dent from the inside? Any
suggestions would be helpful.

I managed to pull out a dent in the rear curbside quarter where a kid had
kicked it, using a suction puller. Wouldn't work on another in the front,
though.

I wouldn't try to tap or pound out a dent from the inside, but would rather
just try to expose it and then gently push with a padded tool.

Good luck....those things can be frustrating.

Roger: Where did you get the suction puller? Auto supply places around here
don't have them.

Tom,

I got mine from Harbor Freight Tools. Their retail locations are mostly in
the West, but they have a website. Here's the URL for suction pullers:

http://order.harborfreight.com:9100/EasyAsk/harborfreight/results.jsp

This company is a good resource for odd tools.

Tom,

I don't know if you are signed up to the Airstream List, but Tom Dickieson
has posted about a dent he took out of his unit caused by a falling tree
limb several days ago. He used an item called the Ding King to pull the
dent out and said that it took 36 pulls. I have asked permission to put his
pictures on my site, but have not had a response as yet. Meanwhile, I am
mailing copies of them to you off lists, as the list program will strip them
from the e-mail if I send them over the list.

Here is what he had to say about availability:

>The Ding King by the way, was purchased at our Canadian Tire Stores,
>which is like a Pep Boys, and so is probably available there also.
>The cost was $19.95 Cdn, and so would be about $12.95 US at a Pep
>Boys or like establishment. Well worth what it resulted in.

When I checked that link I sent in the last posting, it didn't work as I had
pasted it.

Just go to www.harborfreight.com and search for the keyword suction. You
should find about 9 items.

I have placed several of Tom Dickieson's before and after pictures in the
VAL photo gallery. He took these to show the results of using the Ding King
on his Airstream to remove the dent from a fallen tree.

Roger: Which item did you find helpful. Of the items listed, I see nothing
about pulling out dents as a use for any of those items.

Hello all,

I'm looking to purchase a Marvel Refrigerator for my '56 Caravanner. It had
been replaced with a later (ugly) fridge, and I'd like to restore my galley
to its former glory. I think they were 110/12 volt, and were widely used in
RV's of the era. If you need a photo, email me and I'll send you one.

Thanks,

Subject: [VAL] MHMA Badge?

Hello all,

While polishing out my '56 Caravanner, I came across a 3" diameter circle of
light corrosion just in front of the leading curbside window. There are
still two rivets, one at the top and one at the bottom of the circle, so I
assume it was some sort of badge. I've seen the Mobile Home Manufacturer's
Association badge on a '65 Safari. I assume mine had an earlier verrsion of
the badge. If anyone has some info on this badge (or the badge itself and
can get a photo or rubbing), please contact me off list. I'd like to
reproduce the badge for my A/S.

Thanks,
Brian Jenkins
