Tom are you simply referring to the edited archives
you regularly save and post at your place ?
Or are you describing the unedited digests as they
would normally come to those who subscribe digest
style?
I have searched your site to no avail if you are
talking of making available the un-edited digests.
Would you mind furnishing a URL or link to what you
are talking about?

Isn't there a command that can be sent to Majordomo to
retrieve archives? If that is not enabled would it not
make your job easier? i.e. is there a downside to
utilizing that majordome feature?
(cost,bandwidth,etc.?)

Thanks
jaco

As I indicated in my message, I have made all of the old digests themselves
available. These are in addition to edited copies of the regular messages
which I have been archiving all along on the site. A link to them is found
on the same page as the link to the edited messages, immediately below the
edited messages link. From the home page, click on Trailers, and then on
Airstream Trailers.

At this point, the Majordomo command to retrieve archives is not enabled.
One or two members might know how to use the command, but most would not,
and it is easier for most to follow the links on the website to find the
messages. Please note that this is hardly a buried link. It is on the
first page of the Airstream section.

Disk space is not a problem at this point, but if I start running out of
space, probably I will remove the digests from the site.

I don't know how you went about searching the site for these digests. If
you used the search engine, be aware that it is only updated weekly, early
on Sunday morning, so that it may not have contained the terms which you
were using in your search. The digest page has existed for months, but has
not contained all digests. The link to it is new however.

Dr. Johnson,

Slab base nuts look like they will work fine. I picked up some at the
hardware store to try, and will order stainless. Thanks for the
suggestion.

Hi Gary, I was camped in my 1976 rear bath airstream and when I
pulled the black water handle it came clear out! I looked under the
trailer and no-one has made a patch for me but I will make myself one
for sure!

You didn't have to do it but I will need to remove the entire
cover to get at the valve. It looks like about 20 bolts and the whole
thing comes off. Do I need to watch out for thing falling out never to
work again?

What a great picture, Susan. Any idea the year model of the automobile?
Looks to be maybe a very early 1950's Chevrolet sedan perhaps.

P.S. In the past did you give away a tow vehicle that was really old and
needed a lot of work? I'm thinking that maybe it was a Jeep product. Have
I mistaken you for someone else? If I recall correctly the vehicle needed
to be towed from a city in CA.

In my 69 safari, this was untrue. I ordered the penquin based on this email.
I had to cut a 14 x 14 opening and fabricate a 1 3/4 inch wood frame to get it
to work. This was not a simple job, and I consider myself a seasoned mechanic
and i am a licensed electrician.
Now, since the penguin did not make an exact fit, I have unsightly gaps in
my ceiling that I need to fill in.
The penguin controls also had to be bent to allow for the roof design. This
created the oppurtunity to drill out the knob opening to allow for the tapered
ceiling, so the knobs would fit.
The original a/c had the condenser and coils both above and below the
ceiling. the only holes in the roof were the ones for the fan shaft (3/4 inch), the
refrigerant lines (2 inch), and two small holes for the electrical. I cut all
this area out to allow for the penguin.
Don't get me wrong, the penguin is cooling great now, but it is far from an
exact fit!!!

Tom. it looks like a 53 or 54 Chrysler to me. It's a neat looking rig, isn't
it?
