In my 54 Flying Cloud, which originally had NO holding tanks, the A/S plant has
added one 18 gal. tank for both black and grey water. They couldn't add two tanks
due to space and clearance under the bath. There wasn't even room to add a valve
to the grey water line so that I could have used a grey hose to connect to a Blue
Boy. This was told to me over the phone as I won't be able to pick "Pearl" up till
the first of April. I am very happy just to have ANY holding tank!

When I get her back I will take lots of photo's of the extensive work done and make
a site so that any interested can see how the plant did the work.

If you remove the entire insides, and the floor you can put in all the
tanks you want. Oh, and reinforce the frame. At least I SURE HOPE SO.
Haven't put the new Bubble design on the road yet so I lie awake at
night reviewing my work and hoping I don't leave a trail of tanks,
toliet, water lines, etc., strewn about the roadway on her maiden
flight which should be fairly soon.

Hi All,

Has anyone had experience with the Reese Mini-Lite Weight Distribution
System for lighter weight trailers? My FC weighs under 3,000 lbs. and
only has a tongue weight of 275. In looking at the Reese web site this
system seems ideal for it. I took it to Colorado with only a sway
control and it was fine combined with my 2500 Suburban but I think I'd
feel better with the WD added on. Any thoughts?

Is there a Chris Elliot from Colorado on the VAL list?

If you are there Chris, please write me off list at tmeeker@xxxxxxxxxx.rr.com

I think I talked to you before concerning something I was replacing on our
newer Airstream.

Thanks,
Tom

You really should have a heavier tongue weight with a 3000 trailer. More
like 15% than 10% of the trailer weight. Then the weight distribution
system becomes useful.

Jim,
I was wondering if you had repaired the problem on your coach. You
spoke of both inside and out side problems.
Dr Gerald is right, they are not related. This is just two seperate
problems.
I would expect there is a bad fuse to cause the inside problem. there
is just to much not working for it to be a random event.

Hello, Bill

Actually it appears they are related. You are right about the inside problem
being one of the fuses in the control panel. It's a Buss MDM 40 fuse that is
in the blue wire circuit that goes to the A frame and the umbilical cord to
the tow vehicle. The fuse tested good (no resistance) but when I replaced it
with a new fuse, the interior 12V lights and appliance all came to life.
When I connected the umbilical cord from the trailer to the tow vehicle the
outside marker lights worked which they had not before from the tow vehicle
battery. I still do not have tail, brake or turn signal lights -- which was
the original problem. I suspect I may have a blown fuse in the tow vehicle
that powered the tail, brake and turn signal lights. I'm looking for the
wiring diagram for the socket on the tow vehicle the umbilical cord plugs
into. I have no clue which fuse in the vehicle related to that line to the
trailer. None of the fuses in the tow vehicle look blown but I will be
testing them until I find the one that is open.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions form everybody. Incidentally, there
are MDM 40 fuses also in the wires from the battery and those fuses are
VERY hard to find. A word to the wise if your unit uses the same fuses.

Jim,
Nearly every time I have multiple running/turn/brake towing lights out it is
a ground problem. The running lights normally work as they pick up a ground
through the turn and brake lites. Have you tried the running and turn
signals at the same time? That's usually when everything quits or the
running lights start to flash. If the connectors have in the unbilical have
been sitting for some time, the corrosion breaks a good connection.
Obviously if the tow vehicle lights work without the umbilical, there is no
fuse problem. Most modern vehicles run the turn and brake circuits
separately. Just my experience.....
Pete

Greetings,
I'm considering having a little appliance work done at Inland and was
wondering if anybody out there might have an experience/recommendation
they'd like to share. Feel free to contact me off list if you'd prefer.
