All the trailer light wires are connected to a terminal which allows you to 
plug/unplug your cable that you connect to your tow vehicle. They, the terminal 
is covered by the bump, but the terminal itself is pretty much between the wall 
and outer skin. I don't see why you couldn't put a flat cover over it as long as 
it's something that want arc.
