I replaced the Bowen stock heater in my 1966 Safari with a Precision Temp
RV-500 on demand (tankless) unit.  My LP gas use has dropped dramatically.
I think this is because the unit has an electric pilot so no constant gas
use, and it only burns when you turn on the hot water.  There is no tank to
keep hot.
