Ron,
 Just connect the I-P to your battery. If you had a converter that had a
seperate AC output, connect the wire that went to that output to the battery
also and you're all set. The lights, fans, and pump ran off DC when the
converter wasn't powered up, connected to the battery through a relay. The
I-P has no AC output and the appliances won't know the difference.
Everything must be properly fused, of course.
